One of the key requirements is that students need to be genuinely in need of financial assistance. The other requirement, of course, is that the students should have a proven track record of academic excellence.
Therefore, at ElloWhale, we seek to identify bright students right from Std VIII and Std IX itself. Once such students are identified, we will provide best-in-class tutoring to them to ensure that their talents are properly channelized and nurtured.
Furthermore, we will contact the respective schools and ensure that the requisite financial commitments, such as the Std X school fees, uniform costs, text books and examination fees, are all taken care of.
To make this possible, we rely on Ello Whalenteers, a team of volunteers from Zuci Systems who want to make a difference and are ready to walk the talk.
The selection process will be conducted in three stages:
Stage1:
This will involve the validation of academic performance. The Whalenteers from Zuci will contact the respective schools and verify the credentials of the nominated students. This is to ensure that only genuinely meritorious students are selected.
Stage 2:
The next step would be to verify the financial background of the nominated students. This can be done by checking IT returns (if applicable) and bank statements, as well as personal visits to the students’ homes.
Stage 3:
The final stage will involve an informal interview with the child to establish his/her academic goals and provide guidance and direction as necessary. Here too, the Whalenteers will chip in with their expertise to facilitate this activity.
The selected students will automatically qualify for future financial assistance, viz., Std XII, UG, and PG sponsorship, subject to satisfactory academic performance throughout.
